The Robocat Blog

A stream by the iOS developers over @robocat. We build stuff.

The Festival has been over for about a week and a half, the worst hangovers have receded and life has returned to it’s regular pacing. We want to take this opportunity to just thank everyone for making The Unofficial Roskilde App 2011 a booming success. With more than 14.000 downloads, compared to last year, we’ve doubled the amount of people with our app in their pockets and once again beaten the official app, both in terms of reviews and downloads, all because of you guys!

So on this grey wednesday a heartfelt thanks goes out from the Robocat office in Vesterbro - we literally couldn’t have done it without your support and your feedback.

If you’re missing that festival vibe, why not take a cup of coffee and look through some of the awesome pictures that people took with the app during the festivities? Poor network coverage and data transfer speeds aside, we had a lot of people using the in-app camera to communicate and play - it was amazing to see the festival through your lenses. At the peak hours our open photostream had more than 4 requests per second. That means that in those hours more than 4 other devices where viewing your images every second. That to us, tells us that there’s a huge interest in sharing and viewing pictures taken by the audience.

Hope you had a great (and mostly dry) Festival! Maybe we’ll see you guys next year.
