We asked around on twitter and got a lot of great name suggestions for the Thermometer app we’re toying with. When choosing a name for your app, you need to make sure it’s something memorable and easy to pitch. You also have to take competition and name squatters on the app store into account. So a combination of gut feeling and availability usually makes the decision. In this case we both really liked the simple, short ‘Thermo’ or the slightly more technical ‘Mercury’ - both names came up several times when we asked around. In the end, the simple Thermo was what struck us as most useful for the app.
